picture of ferret in grassF.E.R.R.E.T. is more than just an organization of ferret lovers - although we certainly do love them! We are trained and experienced in disaster response, emergency management operations, shelter operations and emergency transport, ferret health and education. We have worked cooperatively with humane organizations; local, state and federal emergency management and law enforcement agencies; veterinarians and fellow volunteers. We've "been there." We've seen the mistakes - and the triumphs. Our goal is to help more ferrets survive the next disaster.
More about FERRET and how we can help >

sugar the ferret Ferrets can suffer a fatal intestinal blockage if given fruit (including dried fruit), nuts, vegetables or commercially prepared food that contains those ingredients. By the time you notice anything is wrong, it could already be too late. If no ferret food is available, the next best thing is dry, high-quality, chicken or turkey flavored cat food.
